PM: Syria wants Russia to participate in oil, gas projects

DAMASK, Apr 25 (PRIME) -- Syria wants Russia to take part in geological exploration and development of onshore and offshore oil and gas deposits, Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi told PRIME on Monday.

“The priority is economic projects we plan to implement and investment which we plan to raise. The ministry of oil and natural resources has strategic projects in the energy sector, particularly in the field of geologic exploration at onshore and offshore oil and gas fields. We have already suggested cooperation to friendly nations, primarily to Russia,” he said.

Syria is interested in investment in the Homs and Baniyas refineries, as well as in a joint project to construct the Feralas oil refinery.
